Allozymes is hiring a distinctive Research Assistant into its Microfludicis team. This team is responsible for developing and /or screening novel enzymes and microbes to produce chemicals and natural compounds. The candidate will help with the day-to-day experiments that are assigned by lead scientists. Working in a highly collaborative and dynamic environment, this role has the opportunity to interact with other assistants, scientists, and engineers to achieve the goals.
Responsibilities
- Routine microfluidic chip fabrication.
- Analyse experiment samples with analytical instruments such as microscope, syringe pumps, etc.
- Perform routine high throughput sorting experiment
- Validate the microfluidic chips, microfluidic droplet generation with various assays, high-throughput screening of assays, screen enzyme activity, and compile the results.
- Assist lead scientist to carry out routine experimental works
- Data collection and analysis
- Present findings to the key team members
- Ad-hoc tasks regarding the company operation
Qualifications and Experience
- BS/MS in molecular biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, biophysics or related field
- Preferred to have a brief understanding of fluids mechanics
- Preferred to have hands on experience in Laboratory works
- Experience with Microfluidics or Fluid mechanics is a must
- Hand on experience using microscope is recommended
- Enthusiasm to learn new techniques and strong curiosity of areas of biology previously unknown to you
- Systematic, enthusiastic and a team player
