
Akbar Vahidi is co-founder and CTO of Allozymes, where he leads the development of the company’s microfluidics-driven platform for enzyme engineering and high-throughput screening.
A scientist–entrepreneur with deep expertise in biocatalysis and microfluidics, Akbar has pioneered systems that enable rapid, close-to-application screening of enzyme variants at unprecedented scale. His work bridges fundamental research and industrial application, accelerating the discovery and optimization of biocatalysts across pharmaceutical, chemical, and emerging biological processes.
As a co-founder of Allozymes, Akbar has been instrumental in translating early scientific breakthroughs into a scalable platform that powers next-generation enzyme engineering. His contributions continue to shape the company’s capabilities in delivering high-performance, application-ready enzymes for real-world manufacturing challenges.
Akbar holds a PhD in Biocatalysis from the National University of Singapore.
