our story
Peyman Salehian and Akbar Vahidi,
co-founders of Allozymes, share a background steeped in environmental awareness

Peyman, a serial entrepreneur with a successful deep-tech venture under his belt, was drawn to chemistry's fundamental role in innovation. Akbar, raised in Iran's natural landscapes, developed a profound appreciation for nature and its delicate balance.

Their paths converged at the National University of Singapore, where a shared existential concern for the world blended with their shared passion for sustainability.
Akbar, obsessed about the world's reliance on fossil fuels, explored biofuel alternatives using enzymes. Peyman, a maker at heart with a chemical engineering background, saw much-needed potential in this approach.
Learn more about our impactThe birth of Allozymes was instantly marked by a pivotal challenge: establishing a dedicated laboratory during the COVID-19 pandemic in the small city-state of Singapore.
However, this crucial infrastructure ultimately enabled groundbreaking research and development, culminating in their first commercial success.
